The
series is based on the short story by Mikhail Bulgakov about the activities of
a provincial doctor at the dawn of the Russian Revolution of 1917. In this
turbulent time, the young doctor Vladimir Bomgard arrives in a small village,
where he is taken for the treatment of local residents. Vladimir has to face
not only with the difficulties the profession and superstitions uneducated
patients, but also with his own inner demons. He begins to doubt his competence
and try to overcome the burden of medical malpractice.
